Palazzo Torriani - Historical House in Tuscany - Mugello, Florence, Marradi
Historical House Palazzo Torriani

PALAZZO TORRIANI

Palazzo Torriani offers its guests a warm welcome in a refined, sophisticated atmosphere, with the utmost courtesy and friendliness of its landlords. The apartments and the rooms are the result of a recent complete renovation carried out by craftsmen specialised in preserving the architectural and artistic lines of this ancient and noble building and under the supervision of the Superintendent for the Protection of the Cultural and Artistic Heritage of Florence. The rooms are fitted out with luxury bathrooms and facilities, antique furniture and extremely comfortable beds, all of which assures a peaceful and gratifying rest for the guests who want class, comfort and elegance for their vacation. We thus believe that the hospitality of Palazzo Torriani is both excellent and fully reflected in the tariffs applied, both for the short one-night stays and for the medium-long stays. Together with what we have said above, we should add that the Historical House is situated in the centre of the village of Marradi, famed for its historical and artistic traditions and its rural civilisation, which extends along the picturesque, verdant Lamone Valley (Mugello - Tuscany). All this definitely fosters a pleasant stay that will always be appreciated. A great cultural and tourist attraction is the chance to breathe in the atmosphere and stroll through the sites that inspired Dino Campana, Marradi’s great poet.

Marradi is 65 km from Florence, 85 from Bologna, 70 from Ravenna, 35 from Faenza, the city of ceramics and 35 from the Mugello race track, 95 km from Rimini and 45 from Forlì. You can also get to Marradi by train from either Florence or Faenza railway stations.

typical products of our territory

Our guests can savour the wines, the olive oils and other typical products of our territory and, particularly in the autumn-winter period, the so-called “good chestnut” of Marradi and the cakes and biscuits made from the chestnuts. In the other seasons of the year, our guests can try some of the recipes created by Martino, a chef who lived in the second half of the 19th century. He was very loyal to the Torriani family, and brought to Marradi some recipes for first courses that are still made in the area today. Upon request when making your booking, we can arrange, bearing in mind the teachers’ other engagements, courses in traditional local cuisine and visits, accompanied by tourist and nature guides, to the most enchanting locations in the area.
